Early Childhood Education in Tigard, OR
Research-Driven Preschool & Daycare Programs for Local Families
Choosing the right daycare or preschool program is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your child. At Safari Kid of Tigard, we’ve built a childcare center where research-driven early education and genuine warmth exist in the same place. Our preschool and private kindergarten programs are designed to inspire curiosity, foster emotional and intellectual growth, and give every child a strong foundation for everything that comes next.
Whether you’re looking for a trusted early childhood education program, a nurturing daycare center, or an enriching preschool program, our evidence-based approach balances academics, creativity, and social-emotional learning so your child can build more than classroom skills. They can build the confidence to use them.
Early Childhood Education Programs That Focus on the Whole Child
We go beyond traditional preschool learning to focus on the whole child. Our curriculum supports five essential areas of development: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language. At our childcare center in Tigard, learning isn’t limited to ABCs and 123s. It’s about nurturing independence, empathy, creativity, and confidence from the very beginning.
By integrating techniques from multiple early childhood education methodologies, including Montessori and Reggio Emilia, we’ve created a proprietary approach that evolves with the latest research in brain development. When you choose us, your child receives a dynamic, well-rounded education backed by science and shaped by genuine care for each learner.
Programs That Grow With Your Child, From Infancy Through Pre-Kindergarten
We support your child’s development from their first smiles to their first steps into school. Our age-specific programs provide nurturing care, engaging activities, and plenty of room to explore and grow.
Our programs include:
- Infant Care: A warm, caring environment focused on bonding, sensory play, and early milestones.
- Toddler and Two-Year-Old Programs: Encouraging independence and social skills through music, movement, and hands-on learning.
- Preschool: A gentle introduction to structured learning with activities that build early language and math skills.
- Pre-Kindergarten: Preparing children for kindergarten with deeper learning, creativity, and problem-solving.
Each stage is thoughtfully designed to meet your child where they are developmentally while sparking the curiosity and confidence they’ll carry forward.

Diane Miura Director
Hi families! My name is Diane, and I’m so happy to be part of the Safari Kid Tigard community. I’ve been in early childhood education for over 20 years, starting as a teacher’s aide and growing into lead teaching and director roles. I truly love building strong connections with children and families and creating a warm, supportive place where every child can thrive.
Outside of school, I’ve been married for 19 years and have two teenage boys who keep us busy and on our toes! We also have a black goldendoodle named Daisy who is very much part of the family. We love spending time together on road trips to the beach or the mountains, camping, and most weekends you can find us in the bleachers cheering on our boys as they play competitive basketball.
I look forward to getting to know your family and being part of your child’s journey!
